WHAT IN A NAME

Today is another bright day for me to ponder over this:  A BRIDE KEEPING HER MAIDEN NAME.
I was recently asked by a friend if I would like to keep my maiden name (family name) after marriage and when I responded, he was sort of against my responds and then it got me thinking. Keeping a maiden name, is it necessary? Does it worth all the fuss about it? Isn’t it highly overrated?
Think about it
I have had that name for like a very long time since the day of my birth till the day I want to get marry, that name serves as my identity as been part of something, a family, community, society etc. Keeping the name will remind me where I came from, who I am really, so keeping my maiden name will justify that. I know most celebrity especially those who became celebrity before marriage tends to keep their maiden name for the reason that they have built up a professional reputation that they don’t want to compromise, even though they are married so as to remind them who they were, where they came from.
So I decided to keep my maiden name after marriage, does that make my husband less of a man? Should that seriously affect his ego? Keeping my maiden name does stop me from having my husband’s name which of course everyone knows it always the last name.
On the other hand, leaving my maiden name out of the equation shouldn’t raise any issue whatsoever, as I have taken another man’s name (which I vow in holy matrimony to uphold) that name should give me an identity and a good one. That name should add value to me and swear to profess, protect and provide for me. That name I have decided to take against all odd, that name should promise to never make me regret dropping my maiden name and we should together uphold the reputation of that name because that is the name I will finally be remembered with.

My point is, A BRIDE KEEPING HER MAIDEN NAME IS OVERRATED

Guys: How do you feel about your wives keeping her maiden name?
Ladies: Would you love to still use your maiden name after marriage?
What your take on this?
