I saw a bus (probably that of a Hospital) with an inscription “Nurses are Beautiful” and that made me think aloud.
Should Nurses concerned themselves with beautiful? Is beauty a description
used for nurses, those in medical field?
If I go to the hospital and a beautiful nurse was not sent to attend to me,
do I reject the nurse? (after all “Nurses are Beautiful”) and I deserve to be
attended by one
It would have been great if the inscription was “Nurses are caring”, “Nurses
are wonderful”, Nurses are patient” etc. With these descriptions, it elaborate
a lot more, they are not just caring, wonderful, patient but they are loveable,
enduring, exceptional, beautiful, patient, kind and much more.
Such quote should be used to promote their calling and not focus on physical
aspect. Imagine bank using this slogan “Bankers are cute” or Law firm using
this “Lawyers dress well” etc, that will not dignify the organization. When you use the right phrase, you impact the right feeling.
Nurses are special because their job involves caring for the sick unlike
the doctors whose only concern is to cure
the sick, Nurses make the sick feel better and that why they deserve a better
slogan such as “Nurses are exceptional” “Nurses are extraordinary” etc but
using beautiful to describe nurse is placing them below their quality.
